CSR ROCKWOOL
Description & Production CSR is the leading quality manufacturer of Rockwool insulation in ASIA. Rockwool as the name suggest resembles wool but is made from rock. The most suitable materials are limestone and basalt. However, others forms of material such as blast furnace slag can also be used. The rocks are melted in a furnace using coke as fuel at approximately 1300 C,and the molten lava is fiberized by the use of four water cooled spinning wheels.
The fibres are the coated with a thermosetting binder which, when head cured, bonds the fibres into a mat. The mat is then cut into suitable sizes of packaging. Relatively small rigid pieces (eg 1200 x 600mm) are called batts, larger pieces (eq 5000 x 1200mm) are called blanked.
